WILLIAM MARGOLD timidly entered the world of adult entertainment filmmaking back in 1971 in the capacity of a journalist seeking to find out what it was like to perform in an X-rated movie.

Expecting to try and penetrate the business and fail, Margold was prepared to be content simply writing stories about the performers and the behind the scenes activities of an industry that he calls “The Playpen of the Damned.” But William discovered that he was able “to get it up, get it in, get it out and get it off” well within the expected time frame that it took to shoot a sex scene. And so began a career that has spanned the entire timeline of the modern hardcore entertainment movement, during which his multi-faceted involvement in XXX (ranging from actor to agent, scriptwriter to director, publicist to activist) is unmatched. And, as he states in his most famous sound bite: “In a society that is drug infested, violence wracked and polluted by chemical greed…no one has ever died from an overdose of Pornography.”
